IVF SUPPORT CYCLE
£600

We have designed this cycle of treatments to support those embarking on an IVF CYCLE. It is research based and helps support the client both physically and emotionally through IVF.

• 1 hr nutritional consultation
• 6 x acupuncture treatments
• 2 x 1hr hypnotherapy/visualisation /massage

ACUPUNCTURE
“Acupuncture Before and After Embryo Transfer Results in Higher Pregnancy Rates”. Results from a recent study in Germany found that including acupuncture in the treatment protocol of IVF patients may increase their chances of becoming pregnant. Ideally acupuncture treatment starts prior to an IVF cycle (see The Female Cycle), however excellent results have been shown when given at certain times during the IVF cycle as outlined in this IVF Support Cycle.

HYPNOTHERAPY OR VISUALISATION
Many women going though IVF treatment benefit from hypnotherapy by utilising relaxation and visualisation techniques. Research shows that through developing these skills they become more focussed on what it is they want to achieve, and more in tune with their body’s needs.

NUTRITION
This nutritional consultation is designed to support your health through your diet. The focus is to improve the food that you eat throughout IVF and to help you decide which supplements to use. Research has repeatedly indicated that diet has a major part to play in improving health prior to conception and during pregnancy.

Although we recommend that the programme is taken in this way it is possible to replace some treatments with a preferred option; i.e. you may wish to use hypnotherapy rather than massage or vica versa. This can be discussed with your fertility advisor at the outset of treatment.

IVF Support Advice

Some suggestions-

Take plenty of rest during your IVF cycle. It will be tempting to carry on as normal and many people are advised to do this. However, you are trying to grow follicles so it is important that you are as rested and de-stressed as possible.

Try not to fill every moment of your day, take time to focus on what you are trying to achieve. It is important to be able to imagine yourself with a baby, try not to lose sight of this.

Drink plenty of water. Water should be room temperature and not straight from the fridge. Also, try to drink it away from meal times so as not to ‘flood the digestion’.

Eat plenty of protein as too little protein can effect the amount of eggs you produce. It is important to eat warm cooked foods as in Chinese medicine they are more nourishing and easier to digest. Too many cold foods chill the system, which is detrimental to implantation.

Keep warm, warm your lower abdomen and do not get cold. Do not walk on stone floors barefoot as the cold can easily penetrate the uterus via the kidney channel, which begins on the sole of the foot.

Make time for each other, try yoga or partners massage………..
